Itinerary
Day 1: September 21, 2024 / Arrival
Departure at 5:00 a.m. from Luxembourg at P+R Bouillon to Brunico, including breakfast and lunch
Day 2: September 22, 2024 / Brunico - Lodenwelt Vintl
Morning free visit to Brunico, the main town in the Pusteria Valley with a lively old town. High above the town is Brunico Castle. In the afternoon, off to Vintl to visit Lodenwelt. In the museum, you will discover the whole process, from sheep's wool to finished garment, and then take a stroll through the fascinating world of Lodenwelt.
Day 3: September 23, 2024 / Trauttmansdorff Castle - Merano
After breakfast, visit Château Trauttmansdorff and its magnificent gardens. Stroll through various gardens such as the sun garden, water garden and terraces, as well as various exotic plants. In the afternoon, head for the spa town of Merano. Enjoy a relaxed stroll through the town, along the Passer and Gilf promenade, explore the picturesque Tappeinerweg or stroll through the charming Laubengasse.
Day 4: September 24, 2024 / Tour of the Dolomites
Today we are planning a major excursion to the Dolomites. The route takes in Dobbiaco and Lake Misurina, from where you can enjoy magnificent views of the famous Tre Cime. Then on to Cortina d'Ampezzo, where you can enjoy lunch. The route takes you over the Falzarego Pass and the Pordoi Pass, to the Sella Pass at 2,214 meters above sea level. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Sella group, the Marmolata and the imposing Langkofel. Return to St. Ulrich via the Gardena valley, famous for its woodcarving art.
Day 5: September 25, 2024 / Free time
Enjoy the day at your leisure. You can take the cable car up to the Plan de Corones, considered to be Brunico's mountain, from where you can admire a breathtaking view. Alternatively, a visit to the Messner Mountain Ripa Museum is well worthwhile.
Day 6: September 26, 2024 / Brixen - Neustift Monastery
In the morning, your first stop is the ancient town of Brixen, famous for its beautiful old town, the sumptuous Baroque dome with its diocesan museum of Renaissance art and its collection of nativity scenes.In the afternoon, head for the Neustift monastery, which you can explore at your leisure. This is South Tyrol's largest monastic complex, which also produces its own wines, available for purchase in the store.
Day 7: September 27, 2024 / Dobbiaco - Anterselva Valley
You start the day with a drive to Dobbiaco, nestled in the spectacular Dolomite landscape. The baroque parish church is well worth a visit. Afterwards, visit the Drei Zinnen cheese dairy, where you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of cheese products. Then it is on to the Anterselva valley, world-famous as a biathlon center. At the end of the valley stand the majestic peaks of the Rieserferner group. Take a walk around Lake Anterselva and admire the mountain landscape with its imposing three-thousand-meter peaks.
Day 8: September 28, 2024 / Return
Departure for Luxembourg, including lunch.
