ITINERARY
Day 1: September 14, 2025 / Departure Departure at 5:00 a.m. from Luxembourg (P+R Bouillon) towards Île de Ré, including breakfast and lunch.
Day 2: September 15, 2025 / Abbaye des Châteliers – La Flotte-en-Ré – Rivedoux-Plage After breakfast, you will visit the Abbaye des Châteliers, the oldest historical monument on the island, offering a stunning panoramic view of the Pont de Ré. Next, explore the picturesque harbor of La Flotte-en-Ré with its medieval market, unique church, and rose-adorned alleyways. After some free time, head to Rivedoux-Plage, where oyster farmers will explain the process of oyster farming. A delicious buffet of regional specialties paired with white wine will be served.
Day 3: September 16, 2025 / Loix – Phare des Baleines – Winery In the morning, you will visit Loix and explore a salt marsh with a tasting of sea plants. Then, head to the famous "Phare des Baleines" lighthouse, climbing its 257 steps for a breathtaking panoramic view of the island, the Vendée coast, and the historic fisheries below. In the afternoon, visit a winery where you will taste Cognac and wine, accompanied by local delicacies.
Day 4: September 17, 2025 / Free Time – Saint-Martin-de-Ré Enjoy a leisurely morning, ideal for a beach walk or discovering local specialties at the market. Later, depart for Saint-Martin-de-Ré, where a local guide will lead you through the UNESCO-listed Vauban fortifications. The afternoon is yours to explore.
Day 5: September 18, 2025 / Île d’Aix – La Rochelle Sail from Saint-Martin-de-Ré to Île d’Aix, with commentary on the famous Fort Boyard visible during the journey. After some free time to explore the island independently, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride while learning more about the island's history. Later, visit La Rochelle, where you'll have free time before sharing a delightful dinner by the harbor.
Day 6: September 19, 2025 / Rochefort – Corderie Royale – Château d’Oléron Today's excursion takes you to historic Rochefort for a guided tour of the impressive "Corderie Royale," a designated historical monument. The journey continues to Château d’Oléron, where you'll explore the imposing citadel.
Day 7: September 20, 2025 / Return After lunch, you will begin your return journey to Luxembourg.
