ITINERARY
Day 1: July 18, 2025 / Arrival Departure from Findel Airport to Dublin. Upon arrival in Dublin, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2: July 19, 2025 / Arrival at the Riding Center After breakfast, transfer to your riding center, where you’ll spend the next five nights. Use the day to relax, recover from the journey, or take a stroll along the nearby East Clare Trails. In the evening, enjoy a candlelit dinner in a beautifully restored 300-year-old farmhouse, accompanied by the cozy glow of a peat fire.
Day 3: July 20, 2025 / First Rides & Holy Island Visit After breakfast, meet your horse and prepare it yourself by grooming and saddling to build trust. The first ride (about 2.5 hours) takes you through enchanting forest and field paths, where you’ll discover abandoned 18th-century farmhouses. After a shared lunch, head to Mountshannon Harbor, where a boat will take you to Holy Island. There, explore the impressive ruins of five churches, monks’ cells, and a 12th-century cemetery. In the evening, return to the riding center for a delicious dinner.
Day 4: July 21, 2025 / Rides & Portumna Castle Visit Today, a 2.5-hour ride leads you to the hills of Slieve Aughty, offering breathtaking views of the River Shannon. In the afternoon, visit the 14th-century Portumna Castle and its wonderfully preserved gardens. After dinner, experience Irish hospitality with a visit to a local pub.
Day 5: July 22, 2025 / Irish Landscape & City Stroll In the morning, enjoy another 2.5-hour ride through the idyllic Irish countryside of forests and fields. In the afternoon, visit Portumna Castle (this time the 17th-century section). Afterwards, explore the city and shop for souvenirs. The day ends with a cozy dinner by the peat fire.
Day 6: July 23, 2025 / Full-Day Ride & Celtic Dolmen Today, embark on a full-day riding adventure. In the morning, a 2.5-hour ride takes you through fascinating moors and heather landscapes, where a picnic prepared by the support team awaits you. The afternoon ride (about 2 hours) leads you to an impressive Celtic dolmen over 5,000 years old. The day concludes with a farewell dinner at the riding center.
Day 7: July 24, 2025 / Departure & Return Home After breakfast, bid farewell with a warm “Slán Abhaile” and head back to Dublin. From there, fly directly to Luxembourg.
