From this base, explore picturesque destinations such as Gronau, Nienborg, Almelo and Vreden on a variety of tours. Itinerary

Day 1: 24 August 2025 / Arrival

Departure at 6.30 am from Luxembourg, at the Kehlen P+R, in the direction of Enschede. Breakfast included. Arrival scheduled for midday. In the afternoon, a first walk will allow you to discover Enschede and its surroundings.

Day 2: 25 August 2025 / Gronau - Bentheim Castle - approx. 60 km

In the morning, you'll set off by bike for Gronau, a German border town. Discover the old industrial buildings from the flourishing days of the textile industry, then visit the rock'n'popmuseum. After a break at Lake Dreiländersee, head for the magnificent Bentheim Castle, one of the most important fortresses in northern Germany. Explore its keep, stables and extensive gardens. The day ends with a stroll through Gronau before returning to Enschede.

Day 3: 26 August 2025 / Ootmarsum - Oldenzaal - approx. 60 km

Head north to Ootmarsum, a charming little town in the Twente region.Stroll through its well-preserved historic centre, its art galleries and its open-air museum that tells the story of life in the past. The folk market in the heart of the town is also well worth a visit. On the way back, take a break in Oldenzaal, where the lively terraces of the Groote Markt invite you to relax.

Day 4: 27 August 2025 / Nienborg - Ahaus - approx. 60 km

After a hearty breakfast, cycle to Nienborg to visit the remains of its ancient fortress. Discover the medieval houses, the entrance gate and the remains of the town wall. The route then continues to Ahaus, where you can admire the sumptuous Baroque castle and the modern St. Mariä Himmelfahrt church.

Day 5: 28 August 2025 / Enschede - Free day

Enjoy a day at leisure in the lively city of Enschede.Stroll through its shopping streets, have a coffee on the Oude Markt square or relax in its green parks.Don't miss the Coberco site, where old industrial buildings have been transformed into modern facilities.In the afternoon, a first walk will allow you to discover Enschede and its surroundings.

Day 6: 29 August 2025 / Almelo - approx. 60 km

Taking a dedicated dual carriageway, you pass through Hengelo and the charming village of Borne on your way to Almelo.
This stage immerses you in the varied landscapes and peaceful countryside of the Twente region, ideal for cycling enthusiasts.

Day 7: 30 August 2025 / Vreden - Zwillbrock - approx. 65 km

You cycle through a landscape of peat bogs and meadows to reach Vreden, the oldest town in western Münsterland. Then on to Zwillbrock, famous for its unique flamingo nesting site. On the way back, stop off at the Baroque church of St. Franziskus, one of the region's architectural gems.

Day 8: 31 August 2025 / Return

After breakfast, the electric bikes are loaded onto the trailer and you set off again for Luxembourg.
