ITINERARY
Day 1: September 7, 2025 / Arrival in Balzers Departure at 6:00 AM from P+R Bouillon in Luxembourg to Balzers in Liechtenstein, with breakfast and lunch included.
Day 2: September 8, 2025 / Balzers – Triesen – Triesenberg (15 km) Visit Gutenberg Castle, a striking landmark perched high above Balzers. Leaving Balzers, follow the ancient Roman road toward Triesen, passing through the historic village center and the charming St. Mamerten Chapel, which offers a picturesque view. A steeper ascent takes you to the Walser village of Triesenberg, located 900 meters above sea level and known as one of Liechtenstein’s most beautiful and historic communities.
Day 3: September 9, 2025 / Triesenberg – Vaduz (8.5 km) Start in the center of Triesenberg, heading to the Prufatscheng farmstead, a protected cultural heritage site. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Rhine Valley before continuing to the ruins of Schalun Castle, perched 400 meters above Vaduz. Descend via the narrow Castle Path to reach the car-free capital. Explore Vaduz’s museums, government quarter, St. Florin Cathedral, and the historic Old Rhine Bridge.
Day 4: September 10, 2025 / Vaduz – Schaan – Planken – Nendeln (12.5 km) Begin with views of the Prince of Liechtenstein’s winery, passing through historic Vaduz to the renowned Red House with its stunning view of Vaduz Castle. Continue to Schaan, the most populous municipality, with stops at St. Elisabeth’s Monastery and Gamander House. Traverse scenic forest paths to Planken, Liechtenstein’s smallest municipality, for awe-inspiring valley and mountain views. Conclude by descending to Nendeln.
Day 5: September 11, 2025 / Nendeln – Eschen – Bendern – Ruggell (14.5 km) Start from Nendeln station, heading to Eschen's sports park and village center. Pass the Rofenberg Chapel, descend to the Kirchhügel, and reach Bendern’s post office. Follow the Rhine to Gamprin’s leisure area, Grossabünt, with its serene bathing lake. Continue through the Kratzera Forest to the northernmost village, Ruggell.
Day 6: September 12, 2025 / Ruggell – Schellenberg – Mauren (14.3 km) – Schaanwald (+5.3 km) Visit the Küefer-Martin-Huus cultural center in Ruggell, a protected 18th-century building. Cross the inland dam to reach the Ruggeller Riet nature reserve. Ascend to Schellenberg to view the ruins of the Lower Castle. Continue to Hinterschellenberg for panoramic views of Lake Constance. Visit the Upper Castle of Schellenberg before descending via a former smuggler’s path to Mauren, marked by the St. Peter & Paul Church.
For those seeking an extended journey, continue to Schaanwald to explore highlights like the Silk Tree Path, Bird Paradise Birka, Maurer Riet, and Schaanwald’s Funkenplatz.
Day 7: September 13, 2025 / Return Journey After breakfast, return to Luxembourg, with lunch included.
