ITINERARY

Day 1: June 26, 2025 / Arrival – Ljubljana
Travel by direct flight from Luxembourg to Ljubljana. A guided tour of Slovenia's capital will take place. Afterwards, transfer from the airport to the hotel in Trieste. The day concludes with a group dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: June 27, 2025 / Trieste – Miramare Castle
In Trieste, you will experience a cosmopolitan flair reflected in the streets of the city center. Your exciting walking tour begins at the Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, the vibrant heart of the city, built on the former Roman harbor and extending up to the San Giusto hill. Afterwards, visit Miramare Castle, constructed around 1860 for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian. After World War II, it served as an Allied military headquarters until 1954 and was declared a museum in 1955.

Day 3: June 28, 2025 / The Border Cities of Nova Gorica & Gorizia
Today you will travel to the border between Italy and Slovenia to explore Nova Gorica and Gorizia. These two cities will jointly be the "European Capital of Culture" in 2025 – a first in the history of this designation. First, visit Nova Gorica, a prime example of socialism, and continue to Gorizia. This city has a turbulent history, with one part belonging to Italy and the other to the former Yugoslavia. Always a center of significant European cultures, it is rich in history and art. Your tour guide will lead you through the charming old town to the Border Museum at Piazza Transalpina and invite you to tour the former psychiatric clinic famous for the Basaglia reform.

Day 4: June 29, 2025 / Return Journey
After breakfast, transfer to Ljubljana Airport. The return flight to Luxembourg is scheduled for midday.
