ITINERARY
Day 1: September 14, 2025 / Arrival in Athens Direct flight from Luxembourg to Athens. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: September 15, 2025 / Athens City Tour – Acropolis After breakfast at the hotel, discover Athens with a city tour, followed by a visit to the Acropolis, featuring its majestic Parthenon. Visit the Acropolis Museum, then enjoy lunch at a traditional taverna in the charming Plaka district. In the afternoon, stroll through the narrow streets of the old town.
Day 3: September 16, 2025 / National Archaeological Museum – Cape Sounion Begin the day at the National Archaeological Museum, home to masterpieces like the golden Mask of Agamemnon and statues of Zeus and Poseidon. Drive along the scenic Athens Riviera, enjoy a seafood lunch in Varkiza, and visit the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion before returning to Athens.
Day 4: September 17, 2025 / Mini-Cruise to the Saronic Islands Depart early for Marina Kallitheas and embark on a mini-cruise to the Saronic Gulf islands. Stop in Aegina, the "Island of Pistachios," visit Poros with its neoclassical architecture, and explore Hydra, known for its artistic inspiration. Lunch is served onboard. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 5: September 18, 2025 / Ancient Corinth – Epidaurus – Nafplio Visit the Corinth Canal and the ancient site of Corinth. After lunch, explore the renowned Epidaurus Theatre, famed for its acoustics, before arriving in Nafplio, the former capital of modern Greece.
Day 6: September 19, 2025 / Mycenae – Nemea – Nafplio Tour the archaeological site of Mycenae, including its Cyclopean walls and the Lion Gate. After lunch, visit a winery in Nemea for a tasting session. Return to Nafplio or Tolo for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: September 20, 2025 / Olympia Cross the central Peloponnese to reach Olympia, birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. Explore the site and museum before enjoying lunch during the visit.
Day 8: September 21, 2025 / Dodona – Ioannina Visit Dodona to see its ancient theater. Proceed to Ioannina for a tour of its Ottoman-influenced old town, featuring minarets, a citadel, and lakeside charm. Lunch is included.
Day 9: September 22, 2025 / Zagori – Metsovo – Folklore Museum – Kalambaka Explore the Zagori region's natural beauty and traditional villages. Visit Metsovo and its Folklore Museum before traveling to Kalambaka in Thessaly.
Day 10: September 23, 2025 / Meteora Monasteries – Delphi Tour the Meteora Monasteries perched atop stunning rock formations. Learn about the monks' lives during Byzantine times, then continue to Delphi after lunch.
Day 11: September 24, 2025 / Delphi – Athens Explore Delphi’s sacred sites, including the Apollo Sanctuary, the Athenian Treasury, and the Museum of Delphi. Visit the Castalian Spring and Athena Pronaia Sanctuary before returning to Athens in the afternoon.
Day 12: September 25, 2025 / Departure Transfer to Athens Airport for your return flight to Luxembourg.
